Wounded Warrior Project Recognizes Warriors, Advocates, and Influencers at Annual Awards Dinner

The annual Courage Awards & Benefit Dinner, hosted by Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) and presented by Goldman Sachs, honored America’s wounded warriors and supporters on Sept. 10, 2024, in Washington, DC.   

Commenced by Heisman Trophy winner and former Pro Bowl quarterback Robert Griffin III, the dinner featured four awards presented to warriors and supporters: 

  • The Courage Award honors a warrior who exemplifies bravery, courage, and strength. 
  • The Service Award highlights community supporters who have made exceptional efforts to raise awareness and support for warriors and their families. 
  • The Empowerment Award recognizes exceptional corporate support that helps WWP honor and empower wounded warriors. 
  • The Legislator of the Year Award recognizes outstanding legislative effort and achievement to improve the lives of the wounded, ill, and injured veterans 

“This night signifies the promise we made to wounded veterans – to be there no matter what and to help them reconnect with their personal strength, perseverance, and resilience to triumph over adversity,” said WWP™ CEO Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Walt Piatt. “We’re grateful for our partners and supporters who help us keep that promise.”
