USAA, Wounded Warrior Project Impacting Lives Together
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 4, 2020) – Army veteran and wounded warrior Jeremy Daniels is a lifetime Seattle Seahawks fan and an avid video game player. He’s living with multiple sclerosis and can’t hold the controller like he once could, but was recently given an adaptive controller and spent the afternoon gaming with Seahawks linebacker Shaquem Griffin.
USAA made that happen.
Halfway across the country in eastern Nebraska, Marine Corps veteran and wounded warrior Ron Holton handed his wife the phone and screamed in excitement when he learned he was going to the Super Bowl.
USAA made that happen, too.
Jeremy and Ron aren’t the only warriors impacted with through USAA’s partnership with Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP):
- USAA brought together Carolina Panthers’ star Christian McCaffrey and warriors in Charlotte as they toured the team’s facility; McCaffrey also supports WWP through the NFL’s #MyCauseMyCleats campaign.
- Thousands of people put WWP’s mission into motion at WWP’s first San Antonio Carry Forward® 5K; USAA was the Honor Sponsor of the event series.
- Warriors learned about available financial resources when buying a home, thanks to a USAA event.
“At USAA, we’re passionate about taking care of our military servicemembers, veterans, and their families,” said Eric Engquist, USAA vice president of Enterprise Brand Management. “We’re proud to work with Wounded Warrior Project to help raise awareness about the needs of our injured servicemen and women.”
Warriors never pay a penny for any WWP program or service because they paid their dues on the battlefield. Support from organizations like USAA make those programs and services possible.
“USAA has been a tremendous partner helping us improve the lives of countless warriors and their families,” said WWP Chief Development Officer Gary Corless. “Their passion for serving those who served aligns perfectly with our mission of honoring and empowering wounded veterans and their families.”
