National Service Director - Benefits
As the national service director of Benefits at Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), Ian leads the organization’s national strategy for delivering high-quality benefits services to veterans and their families. He oversees teams responsible for benefits intake, claims development, and accredited representation, ensuring warriors receive accurate guidance, timely support, and maximum access to the benefits they’ve earned. His work focuses on operational excellence, team development, data-driven decision-making, and strengthening partnerships across the VA, Defense Department, and the broader veterans service organization community.
Prior to joining WWP, Ian served as a managing consultant supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Office of Integrated Veteran Care. In this role, he helped design and implement large-scale initiatives within the Integrated External Network (IEN), focusing on improving care coordination, network performance, and access to care for veterans nationwide. His work bridged government and private-sector partners to enhance the delivery of community care services.
Ian is a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 2002 to 2008. He began his service as a culinary specialist before transitioning to hospital corpsman, where he provided direct medical support to service members and family members. His military experience continues to shape his commitment to serving the veteran community. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and brings a combination of operational leadership, health care knowledge, and veteran advocacy to his role.
Ian is based in Colorado Springs with his wife, two adult children, and a grandchild. His son is currently serving in the Air Force. He enjoys the outdoors and takes advantage of long trail runs, pickleball with the family, and weight training. Ian’s passion is his faith in God and living out a life representing servant leadership.
