The Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act

And What It Means for You

The Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act is an omnibus veterans bill, meaning it contains a series of proposals focused on veterans. Many of the key sections in the bill were previously introduced in Congress, such as the similarly named Elizabeth Dole Home Care Act but are now combined under this one comprehensive bill.

What does the Bill Include?

The omnibus bill focuses on proposals that would enhance and reform the delivery of services at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) by prioritizing veterans, their families, their caregivers, and their survivors. Several of the proposals are endorsed by Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) and represent key legislative priorities for the organization this year.

The Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act contains dozens of provisions ranging from health care and benefits to homelessness and VA oversight.

Key Sections

The Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act has passed the House of Representatives. Thank you to all the warriors who sent messages of support to their representatives. The bill will now be sent to the Senate for its consideration. WWP will likely send out another call to action to warriors to contact their senators, but we will wait until we understand the Senate schedule and the timing that will make the most impact.
