Wounded Warrior Project Advancing Research and Access to Psychedelic-Assisted PTSD Treatment

Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) believes every veteran deserves access to the most effective evidence-based treatment to cure post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and improve their quality of life.
Expanding federal research into psychedelic-assisted therapies and improving the efficiency of rescheduling FDA-approved drugs are important steps toward accelerating the pace of rigorous clinical trials to study safety, efficacy, and long‑term outcomes, and ensuring veterans can pursue safe, innovative paths to healing.
WWP is advancing mental and brain health care through partnerships with leading clinicians and researchers at four academic medical centers as part of Warrior Care Network, providing veterans with access to proven therapies and supporting research into innovative treatments. WWP is also advocating for the responsible expansion of access to psychedelic-assisted therapies as a founding member of the VALOR Coalition.
We know from our latest Warrior Survey* that more than 3 in 4 warriors reported having PTSD related to their service, which underscores the urgency of advancing effective care. While traditional therapies help many veterans, they do not work for everyone. Growing clinical research shows that psychedelic-assisted PTSD treatment can be highly effective for certain veterans.
Continued research and innovation are essential to improving outcomes and ensuring every veteran has access to care that meets their unique needs.
