Tire Discounters Drives Critical Funds for Wounded Warrior Project

Tire Discounters recently raised more than $200,000 in customer donations for Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) as part of the company’s “It’s Our Turn” initiative held in September.

This is the second consecutive year Tire Discounters has surpassed its fundraising goal for WWP and the most customer donations the campaign has accumulated since the beginning of the partnership. The fundraiser exceeded the 2021 donation record by over $70,000.

Known as the nation’s largest 100% family-owned and operated independent tire and automotive repair provider, Tire Discounters and its customers have donated $375,000 to WWP since 2019.

"Tire Discounters has gone above and beyond to help Wounded Warrior Project honor and empower warriors and their families,” said Wally Edwards, WWP corporate partnerships director. “The relentless dedication and commitment of Tire Discounters and the generosity of their customers help transform the way America’s injured veterans are empowered, employed, and engaged in our communities.”

“It’s Our Turn” gives customers at all of Tires Discounters’ 186 locations the opportunity to participate in the fundraiser. A Louisville-based store collected over $9,000 in donations, the highest amount raised of all locations.

“Once again, our customers have exceeded expectations in support of this very important cause,” said Charles Curlee, Tire Discounters senior vice president of retail sales and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.  “Wounded Warrior Project is very close to home for Tire Discounters, as we employ many reservists, veterans, and their spouses at our locations. Thank you to all of our customers who participated and allowed us to continue to support the men and women who have sacrificed to keep us safe.  We are proud to have exceeded expectations this year, having set a new record for donations from Tire Discounters.”

Funds raised by supporters like Tire Discounters provide warriors and their families with free, life-changing programs and services in mental health, career counseling, long-term rehabilitative care, and policy advocacy.
