Guaranteed Rate Supports Wounded Warrior Project with Multimillion-Dollar Donation for Veterans

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Dec. 6, 2021) – Guaranteed Rate, a retail mortgage lending and digital financial services company, partnered with Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) and two other charities during its first Mental Health Week to support nonprofits focused on mental health. Through donations from its employees and supporters, Guaranteed Rate raised $1,850,769 to support WWP’s free mental health programs available to injured veterans and their families.

“Addressing the invisible wounds of war and empowering warriors with resources they need to face them is one of our greatest priorities,” said WWP CEO Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Mike Linnington. “Guaranteed Rate’s exceptional support during their campaign not only raised crucial support for these services but also shined the light on the life-saving work we’re doing for injured veterans and their families.”

The week-long campaign featured daily discussions with company ambassadors and mental health experts, including UFC strawweight champion Rose Namajunas. The fighter spoke with WWP Vice President of Physical Health and Wellness James Herrera, and Guaranteed Rate President and CEO Victor Ciardelli about the benefits of eating healthy and maintaining a well-balanced life.

Guaranteed Rate dedicated a $3-for-$1 match for all donations during the week, meaning for every $1 donated, $4 was raised for mental health services. The initiative also benefitted the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Project Healthy Minds.

“We did a lot of research on mental health organizations and chose to support Wounded Warrior Project because they are making a real difference in the lives of veterans and their families,” said Ciardelli.

In a WWP survey of the wounded warriors it serves, almost all warriors (93%) reported experiencing a severe mental injury during their military service, and 83% reported experiencing more than one. WWP offers free mental health programs to warriors and their families, including WWP Talk, Project Odyssey, and Warrior Care Network®. Warriors and their families never pay a penny for any WWP program or service; they already paid their dues on the battlefield.
