Broncos’ Mike Purcell and other NFL players lace up to support Wounded Warrior Project with My Cause, My Cleats
Once again, Denver Broncos defensive lineman Mike Purcell is supporting Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) during the NFL’s annual My Cause, My Cleats campaign.
Purcell is one of five NFL players who picked WWP as his 2022 cause. The My Cause, My Cleats campaign gives players the opportunity to pick a cause important to them and represent the cause on a specially designed pair of cleats. This season, the players wore these cleats during Week 13 games. The cleats are currently being auctioned off to benefit the causes each player selected.
Purcell has been a vocal advocate of WWP and the military community. He has selected Wounded Warrior Project for My Cause, My Cleats for the fourth consecutive season.
“I wouldn’t be able to do what I do on Sundays if it wasn’t for all the service members across the country and the world,” Purcell said. “They’re the true heroes who have fought for our country."
Purcell is also a nominee for the NFL’s Salute to Service Award presented by USAA for his continued support of the military and veterans. Salute to Service is the NFL’s year-round commitment to “honor, empower, and connect with our nation’s service members, veterans, and their families.” The Salute to Service Award recognizes players, coaches, staff, and alumni who have shown a commitment to honoring and supporting military and veteran communities.
The NFL has worked in partnership with Wounded Warrior Project for more than a decade to help support lifesaving programs and services that empower post-9/11 wounded veterans and their families to live their lives to the fullest, on their own terms.
Here are the players who selected WWP for My Cause, My Cleats in 2022:
- Walker Little, offensive lineman, Jacksonville Jaguars
- Devin Lloyd, linebacker, Jacksonville Jaguars
- Anthony Nelson, linebacker, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Mike Purcell, defensive lineman, Denver Broncos
- Darren Waller, tight end, Las Vegas Raiders
