Wounded Warrior Project to Take Part in BGC Partners 11th Annual Charity Day

Fundraiser Commemorating 9/11 and Benefitting Wounded Veterans

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., (September 10, 2015) – As part of BGC’s eleventh annual Charity Day taking place on Friday, September 11, 2015, Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), along with numerous other charities, will receive donations from BGC Partners, Inc. and recognition from a host of celebrities.

Since its inception, Charity Day has raised approximately $113 million globally. Each year, BGC and
Cantor Fitzgerald donate 100% of their global revenues on Charity Day to the Cantor Fitzgerald
Relief Fund and dozens of participating charities around the world. In 2014, the event raised over
$12 million. The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund was created in the aftermath of the World Trade Center attacks as Cantor Fitzgerald sought to rebuild its business after losing 658 of its employees, which represented two-thirds of its workforce in New York.

“We are proud to invite Wounded Warrior Project once again to join us on our Charity Day,” said BGC President, Shaun D. Lynn. “We look forward to recognizing their superb efforts to provide for our wounded heroes, whose vital sacrifices made on our behalf are truly humbling.”

Since 2003, WWP has grown its lifesaving programs and services to meet the growing needs of the constituency it serves. Currently WWP provides support to more than 75,000 injured service members and over 12,000 caregivers and family support members through 20, free programs and services. These programs and services are uniquely structured to engage warriors, nurture their minds and bodies, and encourage economic empowerment. Through a high-touch and interactive approach, WWP’s vision is to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history.

The celebrity guests of WWP for 2015 includes Dominick Chianese and Tony Sicico, from the HBO Emmy Award-winning series The Sopranos, both of whom are devoted supporters of WWP and our nation’s wounded service men and women.

Guests will conduct real trades with BGC’s clients, which include major banks and investment banks, over the phone from the trading floor alongside a licensed broker. BGC will donate all of their revenue that day to charity.

“Wounded Warrior Project believes the greatest casualty is being forgotten,” said Steve Nardizzi, chief executive officer of WWP. “Many of this generation of wounded bravely joined our nation’s armed forces shortly after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, so we are grateful to BGC for continuing to recognize their commitment and sacrifice to this country.”
